Where there's smoke, there's shine.

Another restaurant project this time for good ole BBQ. Going into this project the style and theme was pretty much set off the bat by the client. Whiskey and moonshine with great BBQ, a prohibition country feel. One thing that hadn't been decided at the start was a name. There were some rough ideas but ultimately I took a chance with a name option of my own and created Smoke and Shine - Barbecue. With this design I wanted to bring some modern touches to what would traditional be thought of for a BBQ restaurant and bar. The logo and icon sit well on white or charcoal black with pops from a fiery orange pop color.

For the website bringing in beautiful shots of the bbq meats was key. We also wanted to bring in elements of prohibition era drinking with real images from speakeasies in the background of some sections. Unlike some restaurants what happens behind the scenes is king in bbq so showcasing not only what differentiates this from competitors in the pit we also wanted to showcase the chef behind the creations too. Overall this branding project really came together and was a lot of fun to get into a speakeasy mindset to really capture that vibe. The buildout of the site was fairly straightforward with minimal complexities from a coding standpoint.
